‘Ross Watson's sports/men exhibition at the Sydney Gay Games VI became the talk of the games.’

This series title is very literal, as the models I painted were athletes who participated in the Sydney Gay Games VI. Many of the landscapes are distinctly Australian.

In some paintings I attempted to heighten the sense of drama by creating an unlikely or surprising scene. I wanted to avoid the clichés we see in so many images depicting athletes.
