Description

Introspection and stillness pervades in this most recent fine and evocative painting.

Late afternoon sunshine baths a tanned and naked young swimmer - Nathan Collett, a favourite model for the artist - who gazes down earnestly at an inflatable dolphin, who in contrast, exhibits a playful mood.

Wet speedos hang around the swimmer’s neck suggesting he has returned from swimming naked. He appears still and reflective, deep in a state of relaxation after the relentless physical effort required swimming in the surf waves.

This superbly painted smaller scaled artwork will be included in Watson’s much anticipated Sydney exhibition, opening next month.

Paintings pre-purchased will be available for shipping at the conclusion of the Sydney Exhibition and Book Launch. 19 February to 1 March, 2020

Collector Testimonials

"I have been a proud collector of Ross' paintings for many years. His art is astounding in its beauty, emotion, and reverence for our humanity and the world we live in. His attention to the smallest details, and use of light, dark and colour, rivals art's greatest masters."
James J. O'Donnell, Patron, art collector, NYC
